Le Refuge en Touraine

A unique venue for all your events, open to everyone

In January 2025, Le Refuge en Touraine was awarded the Tourisme & Handicap certification for four types of disabilities: hearing, intellectual, mobility, and visual.

This ensures that every member of your group—regardless of their mobility, sensory abilities, or cognitive needs—can enjoy the same level of comfort, independence, and joy during their stay in Touraine.

This 4-star, wheelchair-accessible cottage near Tours welcomes families, organizations, and groups with disabilities.

A ground floor designed for independent living

120 m² of accessible, single-level living space at the Refuge en Touraine. Bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with a walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchen, and spacious living room.

Parking is available right outside the cottage, with no steps or slopes. Wheelchairs can move freely, and guests with limited mobility can get around without constant assistance.

Independence means regained dignity at this accessible accommodation for guests with physical disabilities in the Loire Valley.

Tourism & Disability Label: The 4 Pillars

Le Refuge en Touraine strictly meets the criteria of the national certification program for:

Physical disability

Ground floor, 100% wheelchair accessible,
walk-in shower,
accessible parking

Visual impairment

Visual contrasts, clear signage, intuitively organized space

Hearing impairment

Quiet environment, assisted communication, visual aids

Intellectual disability

Simple signage, a soothing atmosphere, and clear organization

Living together without compromise

The Refuge en Touraine can accommodate 12 people. This means that a multigenerational family with a member in a wheelchair, a group organizing a nature weekend, or a group of friends—some of whom have special needs—can all stay under the same roof without anyone being left behind on the ground floor while the others go upstairs.

Community living remains possible in this disability-accessible cottage.
